about

I first came across this song on Loudon Wainwright III’s excellent 1973 album, Attempted Mustache. The Swimming Song was already familiar, but about two thirds of the way through the record, this one came on and floored me. Closer inspection revealed that it was written by Kate McGarrigle, and the Canadian connection sealed the deal. This song was a staple in our live set during our last major tour before the lock-down, in Fall 2019. It features the wonderful Colleen Brown on harmony vocals, and is previously unreleased.
